Birthday calculator March 28, 2007

Filed under: Blah — eternally pink @ 7:54 am

It’s my sister’s graduation today (from highschool) and she’s receiving an award, Performing Arts — she’s into a lot of extracurricular activities in school. Way to go! I’m a proud ate.

I was browsing through a friend’s multiply account and came across a link where you can learn what your name says about you. My name is really unique and I’ve tried a lot of times to look for the meaning of it but I just can’t seem to find it or if they give me something I just know that’s not it. Frustrations March 27, 2007

Filed under: Blah — eternally pink @ 10:41 am

My friend asked me what my frustrations were and surprisingly, I have a lot! Oh well. I got a surge of inspiration and got to thinking of acting on these frustrations but so far, 3 days after - nada.

I’m a frustrated:

  • dancer - I was a cheerdancer before, waaaay before. My sister took up hiphop/break dancing classes last year; I kinda wanted to try it out - obviously, I didn’t.
  • drawer - ?! haha I don’t know how you call it — sketcher? painter? I want to know and learn how to draw. I’m left-handed; and you know what they say about left-handed people being artistic and all, I think I’m the only exception. I have so many ideas, pictures, landscapes, clothes in my head that I want to draw but I really can’t. I want to know how to draw/paint in watercolors, oil, charcoal, etc. I want to paint potraites of people. I want to know how to draw a person’s face.
  • singer - yes, I can sing. I can hold my own in a videoke gimik night out but I really want to sing. I want to go jamming with bands during concerts - yep, that kind of singing. A friend’s cousin had a birthday benefit concert and the proceeds went to this charity, I want to do that someday. Haha yah right, this friend’s cousin is in stage plays and can really sing!
  • writer - I like reading romance novels; fiction even. And sometimes I want to so much write my own material but I know I won’t be able to convey the story that I really want or I feel that I won’t be able to really let out what I feel or how I want the story to turn out. I guess I’ll forever be a reader.
  • debater - I just thought of this now, yes, I want to become one! Haha or at least just try it out once but when you ask me what topic I want to debate, the sad thing is, I don’t know.
  • whistler - another what the?! but my gosh, for the life of me, I can’t whistle! S.O. was trying to teach me last Saturday and I just got dizzy! Oh well.
  • photographer - I have my handy dandy digicam but I want to try taking pictures using those kick ass, uberly high priced cameras. I want to take potraits. I want to take pictures of people and try to capture their emotion on film. I do what I can though, with the afore-mentioned digicam.

I just noticed that I do have a lot of frustrations. I also noticed that I can do something about some of them. It’s just that there’s this one itty bitty thing called TIME that’s kinda hard to come by these days. There’s just not enough of it.

Weekend update March 27, 2007

Filed under: Blah, Dining out — eternally pink @ 10:12 am
Friday night - didn’t go to work.
  • Bona Coffee
  • a very “musical” conversation with a dear friend
  • Sinangag Express (aka SEx)
  • 168 Station

Saturday - picked up S.O. from work then ate lunch at Metrowalk in Brazil Brazil (Brazilian Restaurant, uhm obviously). We had buffet which was good but if you’re going to eat here I suggest that you don’t pig out on the buffet food themselves; just get the grilled pork roast, beef, liempo, etc because it’ll really make you full. Overall the food was great, not so happy with the dessert though. They just had this dry cake with icing that doesn’t taste like a cake and there’s a fruit merengue (more like a mango merengue) it was so-so; but good thing they had a Buco Fruit Salad - that was alright. Bought DVDs after lunch, we got Stranger than Fiction (Will Farrell), Lovewrecked (Amanda Bines), National Lampoon’s Spring Break (I have no idea who the actors were because it came out like a documentary of the spring break - it showed boobs though. My boyfriend commented that he should’ve just watched porn; which was better coz that showed you more), and Charlotte’s Web. When we got to their house we watched Lovewrecked - it was a nice, light, funny movie; nothing wow. Then we had siesta. Woke up around 9:30pm took a bath then went to a good friend’s birthday party. Steady night, had dinner and drank. They guys had beer, I had red wine. Went to Metrowalk after to meet up with another set of friends (who were drinking since 7:30pm); we got there around 3:30 in the morning already. After that we went to Jay-J’s to meet up with office friends and stayed there till around 7:30am — haha, in praise of the sun again.

Sunday - slept the whole day; well I should, I got home around 8:30am already. Woke up around 6pm and was supposed to hear mass at 6:30p but I took a bath at 6:30 already, oops! So my sister and I just had dinner at Charbroiled Burgers and heard mass at 8pm in Phase 1. There was a flying ipis! Ack! I know a certain someone who’ll freak out if he reads this! Haha! =P

My home March 15, 2007

Filed under: Inspiration — eternally pink @ 10:21 am

Whenever I read home magazines I can’t help but imagine what my future house would look like. What drapes I’d use for the master bedroom, for the sala, for the dining, basta everything. I think of what print I’d choose for my plates, bowls, glasses, platters, etc. I want a master bedroom that’s big. Not huge, but big enough. I don’t want a TV in front of my bed; I’d probably want a little alcove by the window where I’d have a sofa or a love seat then I’d place the TV there; I’d also love a bay window. I’d have a bookshelf with all my romance novels and maybe a few other books as well; like coffee table books maybe — but I’d probably put them in the living room so that guests will have something look at. I want to host brunches & luncheons with my best girlfriends and I want to cook dinner for a true blue party for my friends. I’d want my kitchen to be up to date with the latest ‘kitchen stuff’ that I can have. I want an oven that I can understand as I would want to try baking something other than chocolate chip cookies. I want to make pies; all kinds of them! Yes, including the dessert kind. Oh, and I want a nice, spacious bathroom too. That’s one of my pet peeves whenever we go out of town or stay in another person’s house where I have to use the bathroom. I’m really choosy when it comes to bathrooms. I never, ever want the shower to be ‘just there’ with the rest of the banyo; I want it separated, I mean it has to have like a, what, divider? between the toilet and the shower? Or maybe just put in a shower that are enclosed in glass that has a door; something like that. I also want a separate room for the computer; it’ll be like a mini office where all my artsy stuff would be kept also; like pretty paper for scrapbooking; scissors, tape, bond paper, ink, stapler — the usual office stuff because I’d need them eventually. I want this room to be technologically advanced, haha! complete with scanner, copier, fax machine, printer; but I can probably get one machine that can do all of this.

This is the reason why I love playing Sims so much! I have a family that I maintain but usually I have this one other character that I just build houses for. I remodel, rebuild, then put in furniture; I love it! I think I thought of becoming an interior designer once or an architect; but I can’t draw to save my life! And to think I’m left-handed — you know what they say about left-handed people being artistic, etc, etc. I’m still thinking of other ideas I can put in my house; I’ll just add stuff as I go along. (”,)

Sample pictures that I got on the internet; not exactly what I really want but I can still do some rearranging (”,)

  • Master bedroom: Something like this; but I’d probably want the door to the bathroom on the other side; haha I don’t know. My imagination is running wild with the things I wanna do to this room!

  • Master bathroom: Not quite like this but something similar. I’d want it to be spacious enough so that 2 people can go about their business without having to bump into each other. And I’d want a shower and a tub.

  • For the home office, I want somthing really bright and spacious as the 1st photo but I think I want to change the desk to something more like the 2nd photo.

  • The kitchen would be contemporary. Very sleek and not much design or print.

Good Times with Mo, Mojo & Maui March 14, 2007

Filed under: Review — eternally pink @ 9:13 am

There’s this show in a local radio station here (Magic 89.9) that’s titled Good Times with Mo (plus Mojo & Maui — the other DJs). Ev er since they started this segment “Forbidden Questions”; which they do every Wednesday; a lot of people was intrigued and started listening to their show. Uhm, yah, including me =) The object of the game is to become a member of the “Diamond Club”. To be a member here you should be able to finish all the questions (up to 40).

Some sample questions are:

- Have you ever slept with anyone famous?

- Name a celebrity with BO

- There’s a movie titled “We are the worst actors”; who would be the leading man/woman?

As you can see by the questions, their guests are celebrities. And it’s really a fun program to listen to, especially if the guests are game. And did I mention that Mojo, one of the DJs, is gay? Haha hilarious! There’s this one local showbiz columnist/TV host/reporter/whatever who’s writing/reporting stuff about the show being indecent/improper. But it’s entertainment! Oh well, it is hard to please everybody.

I really think that if I were famous and got invited to Forbidden Questions, I’d make it to 40 and be a Diamond Club member ;) but I’m not anyone famous, so there. =p

Here’s a photo of the DJs:

L-R: Andi9 (used to be part of trio but left; “9″ because that was the rating they gave her), Mo Twister, Maui Taylor (guest DJ supposedly while looking for Andi9’s replacement but viewers liked her so she’s still there) and Mojo Jojo (the uber fabulous gay DJ that I secretly want to be a friend of - not because he’s famous but I don’t know he has this ‘aura’ of kindness, bitchiness, and meaness all rolled into one) (”,)

I’m back March 14, 2007

Filed under: Me Me ME — eternally pink @ 1:56 am

This is it!(”,) I’ve been a member of blogspot/blogger then transferred to livejournal then now, I’m back to blogger (and it’s not a beta version anymore). I wanted to transfer my previous posts to this account because there are some posts that I really want to keep. They may not make sense to some but I’m sure they will to me. I am inspired to keep this account. I want to be a true-blue blogger! And not just post because I ‘have’ to but because I really feel like posting. Spilling my thoughts, or however you want to call it.

This surge of inspiration came upon me when I stumbled on the forum All About Blogging - you see, I am a member of GirlTalk, an online community for women (and men too) that has a lot of topics to post on. I was inspired by the few blogs that I was able to read - because blogspot, livejournal, xanga, vox, etc are all blocked by our server so the stuff that I was just able to see are those who have their own domain already. I wanted to do that but I’ll deal with this first then maybe eventually get there. But what’s funny is I don’t want other people to read my blogs; eventually but not yet. Fear of being laughed at? Being criticized for my grammar? Sentence construction? I don’t know basta I am not yet ready to make my blog public.

I should be hitting the sack in a few minutes but I might transfer the said posts first.

From my LJ: Forgot the date March 13, 2007

Filed under: Inspiration — eternally pink @ 11:43 am

Saw this from a friend’s Multiply blog and it really touched me to the core. All of these are visible today and love is not something that when you do stuff for the one you love you actually tell them something like, “Hey, I did that because I love you”. Its something that is visible yet invisible at the same time. And these are innocent children who can “see” love in everything but to us adults, its like because of how busy we are trying to make money to save up for a nice life, we actually miss these little things and more often than not we take for granted the people that cares for us the most. And I know that there are people in my life that would, if they could, do anything for me. I know I’d do the same thing for them.Below is the article that I copied from Pattypoo and my own personal comments, if any, are in green.

What does Love mean? A group of professional people posed this question to a group of 4 to 8 year-olds, “What does love mean?” The answers they got were broader and deeper than anyone could have imagined.

See what you think:
________________________________

“When my grandmother got arthritis, she couldn’t bend over and paint her toenails anymore. So my grandfather does it for her all the time, even when his hands got arthritis too. That’s love.”
Rebecca- age 8
* I want to have this when S.O. and I grow old. But you know, I have this feeling that we will.
________________________________

“When someone loves you, the way they say your name is different. You just know that your name is safe in their mouth.” Billy - age 4
* This is so deep yet so simple. Its like you know you feel that way but only Billy here has actually put it into words that I think I myself wouldn’t think of.
________________________________

“Love is when a girl puts on perfume and a boy puts on shaving cologne and they go out and smell each other.” Karl - age 5
* Haha funny and cute. But true.
________________________________

“Love is when you go out to eat and give somebody most of your French fries without making them give you any of theirs.” Chrissy - age 6
* Yeah. I know I do this for S.O. Not that I actually am conscious of it every time I do it but I do recall some instances that I have. I’d do anything for that guy.
________________________________

“Love is what makes you smile when you’re tired.” Terri - age 4
* That’s my guy, alright.
________________________________

“Love is when my mommy makes coffee for my daddy and she takes a sip before giving it to him, to make sure the taste is OK.” Danny - age 7
* Every time I make something for S.O. I taste it first. Because for some reason its like I know how his taste buds work? Crazy, yeah. But its like I know how he wants his food to taste like.
________________________________

“Love is when you kiss all the time. Then when you get tired of kissing, you still want to be together and you talk more. My Mommy and Daddy are like that. They look gross when they kiss” Emily - age 8
* The gross part’s cute! Only from a kid. But yeah, even if you don’t have anything to say to each other. The mere presence of them is enough. Comfortable silences, they’re often called.
________________________________

“Love is what’s in the room with you at Christmas if you stop opening presents and listen.” Bobby - age 7
* This is really wow. Never in a million years would I have given this kind of explanation. Wow.
________________________________

“If you want to learn to love better, you should start with a friend who you hate,” Nikka - age 6
* We need a few million more Nikka’s on this planet. — I agree with Patty.
________________________________

“Love is when you tell a guy you like his shirt, then he wears it everyday.” Noelle - age 7
* Haha this is so true.
________________________________

“Love is like a little old woman and a little old man who are still friends even after they know each other so well.” Tommy - age 6
* I’ve seen this kind of love. I want it when I’m a little old woman.
________________________________

“During my piano recital, I was on a stage and I was scared. I looked at all the people watching me and saw my daddy waving and smiling. He was the only one doing that. I wasn’t scared anymore.” Cindy - age 8
* This is so touching. I’m proud to be my daddy’s girl.
________________________________

“My mommy loves me more than anybody You don’t see anyone else kissing me to sleep at night.” Clare - age 6
* Sooo true. There’s no one in the world who’ll love more than my mommy.
________________________________

“Love is when Mommy gives Daddy the best piece of chicken.” Elaine-age 5
* I’ve seen this in a movie. I think a friend of the girl told her that if a guy gives her the last piece of the chicken (let’s say they ordered a bucket or something) it means that he already loves her. This is true. I think its because you think of that other person more than your-self, I know other’s would disagree but sans those, love is really like that.
________________________________

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy smelly and sweaty and still says he is handsomer than Robert Redford.” Chris - age 7
* After tearing up on the previous lines, this made me laugh.
________________________________

“Love is when your puppy licks your face even after you left him alone all day.” Mary Ann - age 4
* Dogs are the best. Let me rephrase that, puppies are. Hihi coz they’re so cute!
________________________________

“I know my older sister loves me because she gives me all her old clothes and has to go out and buy new ones.” Lauren - age 4
* Haha sweet!
________________________________

“When you love somebody, your eyelashes go up and down and little stars come out of you.” (what an image) Karen - age 7
* Hahaha! Yeah, I was trying to imagine how this would look like.
________________________________

“Love is when Mommy sees Daddy on the toilet and she doesn’t think it’s gross.” Mark - age 6
* This is true!!! When I see S.O. on the toilet, I don’t think its gross anymore — it looks normal actually.. I mean, its like a normal everyday thing already. Must be love ;) Hehe..
________________________________

“You really shouldn’t say ‘I love you’ unless you mean it. But if you mean it, you should say it a lot. People forget.” Jessica - age 8
* Yup.. Sometimes when S.O. and I fight, I just stop and say I love you. Just to remind him, and me, that we shouldn’t fight anymore. Or to remind us something like “Why are we doing this?we love each other!!!”
________________________________

And the final one — Author and lecturer Leo Buscaglia once talked about a contest he was asked to judge. The purpose of the contest was to find the most caring child. The winner was a four year old child whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there. When his Mother asked what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy said, “Nothing, I just helped him cry”
* I’m speechless.

Just a recap of what happened during the week. Being lazy to get up for work at 12:30am is a given. I don’t want the feeling that work is so bad that I have to drag myself up every morning. But everyone has those days, I’m sure. S.O.’s schedule is still the same so we don’t get to spend much time after work. But we did go out and had a couple of rounds of beer, I think it was last Tuesday or Wednesday at Jay-j’s in Ortigas. It was an ok time. Had a meeting before shift yesterday for the party that Corp Cit’s organizing for the account. We’re still thinking of a theme that we can do, that’s due on Wednesday.
Went out with my team mates yesterday. We drank and sang our hearts out in Mucho’s. The TC went with us but he’s not supposed to go because he’s being given trouble at work. They’re not supposed to go out with co-workers here. He’s from the US and was sent here to help us out at work. Anyway, came home last night around 10:30pm and conked out at bed. Was sooo tired!
Oh, I almost forgot! How could I?! Friday afternoon, went out with my best girls and had lunch at Terriyaki Boy in Promenade, Greenhills. Then we went shopping crazy at Watson’s! Haha! They have this promo where you can buy the Ceramic Curling/Flat Iron something for only Php399.00 if you buy Php300.00 worth of stuff at Watson’s. But Watson’s is like a pharmacy slash shampoo, lotion, hand soap, cotton slash weird store so we had trouble accumulating Php300.00 worth of stuff. Its not like you can get tops or bags or shoes there to use up the Php300.00 that we need to buy that curling iron thing. But it was only the 2 girls who bought the thing, didn’t bother with it anymore ;) After that “shopping spree”, we went to Starbucks in Promenade to have coffee and made our pact! Oh my gosh, I have to make it! I know its also for myself, but this is going to be hard. God, give me strength! Hope S.O. and I will see each other today. Its going to be a long weekend for us because our account follows US holidays and its going to be Labor Day in the US on the 4th (Monday) so technically that’s a Tuesday here already, so we don’t have work on Tuesday. One of S.O.’s team mates is celebrating her birthday on Monday (local) so we’ll all go to her place in Laguna on Monday then I think we’re going to Tagaytay after and spend the night there? Not really sure about the after part but we’ll all go to Laguna for sure. That’s it.

Went to Southmall with my sister this afternoon, around 2.30pm, to pick up my glasses. They’re now anti-scratch! Woohoo!ü Went around the mall while it was being fixed for an hour. Tried tops, pants, shorts, etc. Drank a Raspberry Iced Tea (while sis had a Mango Smoothie), smoked my Winstons then ate waffle dogs. Hehe.. After that went to the 5pm mass near the house. Was supposed to go to S.O.’s house but then he texted telling me to not go anymore because he’ll most probably just sleep on me. I know he needs to get some sleep but I wanted to see him. But I didn’t bitch about it anymore and just went back home. But bought a Venti Caramel Coffee Jelly at Starbucks first ;)

Really loving this drink right now. Used to think it wasn’t good then my team lead kept on ordering it and bringing it to the office so I got curious. One afternoon after shift, I was meeting up with the world’s best girlfriends and have coffee so I decided to order one for myself. I was converted to say the least.ü
